#WonderlandSlam - Morning Photographer

Follow the white rabbit through the garden to a hole in an old oak tree. Look inside - peer into the darkness until you stumble and tumble down, down, down into a new normal where large is small, left is right and right is 6 feet apart. Open the door and step out from the darkness of quarantine. Emerge onto the grounds of the historic Voorhies Mansion at Edenvale Winery: a whimsical wonderland where flowers and hedges grow tall, blue caterpillars blow smoke rings, Cheshire cats dance in the clouds, and the Mad Hatter awaits for tea.

Theme:

Both Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the Voorhies Mansion come from the late 19th Century Victorian era. Think of wide-brimmed hats, parasols, corsets, bustles, lace, suspenders, top hats, pipes and pocket watches. Don't feel limited to vintage pieces - give the dreamy Alice in Wonderland theme your own unique flavor. Find inspiration in Tim Burton's dark and imaginative movies or in Disney's 1951 pyschedlic animation. Check out Wonderland cosplay work, play with dramatic proportions, or explore the Victorian era with movies such as Sweeney Todd, Sherlock Holmes, From Hell, Victoria, ect. 

*As always, we celebrate creativity, diversity, and indvidulality. In other words, feel free to get wierd.  

Wardrobe:

We encourage models to come early, dressed in theme and ready to shoot. @tiareagancreative will have a curated whimsical wardrobe available on location for models to browse between 5pm-6pm. Tia will be on hand during that time for styling and wardrobe advice. Don't miss this oppurtunity! Tia excels in styled shoots and has years of professional experience in the fashion industy. When the slam ends, Tia will award the model who rocked her wardrobe hardest with a gift certificate to Medford's @CrunchTimeFun

Hair & Makeup: 

Local makeup artist @jadeypugz will be offering complimentary makeup styling on location before the slam with advance notice. Models: please write to @jadeypugz on Instagram to colloborate on concept and book a time slot - spots are limited!

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme. Please arrive by 5:45pm. After checking in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, prep your camera, and chat with fellow creatives. After introductions, we begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, group size will be limited in accordance with state regulation, and the expansive Edenvale Winery at the Voorhies Mansion provides ample space for everyone to observe responsible social distancing. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bottled water will be provided for participants based on CDC reccommendations. Masks are optional but encouraged. All Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam!
