#ReunionSlam - Evening Model Ticket

Join us as we open the doors to one of Oregon's most historic buildings.  Vacant and vast with winding stairways, mysterious corridors, moody natural light, ancient redwood and exposed brick - a perfect setting for the Autumnal Equinox and a gothic themed slam. "Gothic" is an ambigious, shifting term that dates back to the late 18th century when the scientific "Age of Enlightment" gave way to a new interest in emotion, medieval castles, gloomy abbeys, damsels in distress, melancholic villans and the supernatural. Throughout the 20th and 21st centuries, gothic style has been reenvisioned in literature (Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Dracula, Jane Erye), cinema (The Craft, From Hell, True Blood), music (The Cure, Bauhaus, Yōsei Teikoku), and fashion (victorian romanticism, Cyber-goth, Lolita-goth). Gothic genres often explore the tension between darkness and light. Robert Louis Stevenson said it best: “In each of us, two natures are at war - the good and the evil. All our lives the fight goes on between them, and one of them must conquer. But in our own hands lies the power to choose - what we want most to be, we are.”

Wardrobe:

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot. A curated gothic-themed wardrobe will be provided on location by Medford's Tia Reagan Creative for models to rock and incorporate into their look, beginning at 5pm. Tia's wardrobe is exceptional, please don't miss this! Prizes will be awarded to the model who rocks the wardrobe hardest. Explore the web for gothic fashion inspiration and reach out to Tia for further wardrobe advice on Instagram at @TiaReaganCreative.  Consider early-fall evening heat and expect to layer up or down, bring base neutrals you're comfortable in, and sturdy shoes to take full advantage of the enormous vacant building. *As always, we celebrate individuality & creativity: please feel free to express that uniqueness. In other words, it's ok to get weird!

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme. Please arrive by 4:45pm. After checking in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, prep your camera, and chat with fellow creatives. After introductions, we begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, group size will be limited in accordance with state regulation, and the expansive Lodge provides ample space for everyone to observe responsible social distancing. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bottled water will be provided for participants based on CDC reccommendations. All participants be will required to wear a mask inside. Models can remove their masks once the shoot officially begins. All Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam!
