Theme: Twee Fashion

Twee means "excessively quaint, pretty, or sentimental".  Staples of twee fashion include ballet flats, Mary Jane's and loafers, skirts, cardigans, overalls, raincoats, patterned tights, shift dresses, satchels and Peter Pan collars. Twee became iconic in the late 00's and early 2010's with help from movies like Moonrise Kingdom, 500 Days of Summer, and Juno. For wardrobe inspiration, search "Twee Fashion" on Pintrest, share stories on Instagram, or stop by Labels Reno.  Portrait slams celebrate diversity, self-expression, style, individuality and creativity. Let us know if you have questions about our theme and, as always, don't be afraid to get weird.

Models: 

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot. A twee fashion inspired wardrobe will be provided on location by Labels Reno for you to incorporate into your look (optional), beginning at 3pm - please don't miss this! A prize will be awarded to the model who rocks Label Reno's wardrobe with the most creativity and style. Carson Valley Florist will have wearable floral artirsty available as well. Please try to arrive by 3:30pm. Check in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, meet other creatives, and browse wardrobe before introductions begin at 4pm. We begin each slam by paring everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers in quick 10 minute sessions.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot.  Please try to arrive by 3:30pm. After checking in, browse Tamron's selection of lenses available for use on location. We'll be will be giving a prize away at the end to the photographer who gets most creative and engaging with Tamron lenses.  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots, and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 4pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, group size will be limited to safe levels. Masks will be optional. Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam.

This invitation is required to attend. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. To reserve your spot, please register and purchase your ticket after reading & agreeing to our rules on our website at portraitslam.com/rules.  Your ticket will become non-refundable after March 23rd. We appreciate word-of-mouth and if you'd like to suggest other models or portrait photographers for us to consider inviting, please let us know!
