Theme: Avant Apocalyptic 

The year is 2233. Portland has been reduced to a ghostland of crumbling cities & rusting automobiles. Communication & transportation collapsed during year one. Small bands of surviors now roam the Pacific Northwest in wild packs via makeshift bicycles, razor scooters, skateboards, and rollerblades. To honor the anniversay of the end of civilization as we once knew it, a celebration of alt fashion & photography has been planned at an industrial wrecking yard in the neutral territory of East Columbia. Rock what fashion you can salvage and, as always, don't be afraid to get wierd. Portrait slams are body positive events that celebrate style and creativity. Models: 

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot.  will be on hand during arrivals offering touchups & microsessions, first come first serve, beginning at 9am. A prize will be awarded to the model who rocks our theme with the most creativity and style. Bring base neutrals you're confident in, and comfortable shoes to take full advantage of the large space. We'll have a clothing rack available on location if you'd like to bring an extra outfit to change into during the shoot (please bring hangers for each item). Check in, meet fellow creatives, browse the space for inspiring locations to shoot, & sample lighting by Robis Camera. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers in quick 10 minute sessions.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot.  Please try to arrive by 9:30am. After checking in, browse Tamron's selection of lenses & Pro Photo Supply's selection of lighting available for use on location. They'll will be giving a prize away at the end to the photographer who gets most creative and engaging with their gear.  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots, and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 10am. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, group size will be limited to safe levels for a large indoor space. Masks will be optional. Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam.

This invitation is required to attend. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. To reserve your spot, please register and purchase your ticket after reading & agreeing to our rules on our website at portraitslam.com/rules.  Your ticket will become non-refundable after April 19th.
