Theme: Biker Fashion 

Biker fashion has an unmistakable connection to the alternative scene. The free and rebellious spirit of the biker lifestyle has influenced fashion within everything from punk to rock to hip hop. Search biker fashion for looks that inspire you. Find inspiration in Ducati's speed, power, and efficiency.  Make sure to consider Ducati's color palate: vibrant reds, yellows & oranges, blacks, whites, & silvers. Expensive leather jackets and street bike helmets are not required. Stylish athleisure, cyberpunk, and denim looks can all work beautifully as a base for biker fashion. 

Our theme is not a costume. Challenge yourself to create a look that expresses your own unique vision. For further inspiration, explore biker fashion mood boards on Pinterest or join our recently created

Portrait Slam Forum on Facebook to exchange ideas with fellow participants. Portrait slams celebrate diversity, self-expression, style, individuality and creativity. Let us know if you have questions about our theme and, as always, don't be afraid to get weird.

Models:

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot. Models will have their own dedicated space for changing. If you plan to bring additional wardrobe items, please bring them on a hanger. We encourage collaboration.  Blake Posey and  Zoann Kelly will be offering micro sessions & touchups during arrivals, beginning at 11:00am. Check in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, practice with lighting from Pro Photo Supply, meet other creatives, and browse wardrobe before introductions begin at 12:00pm. We begin each slam by paring everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers (and other models) in short micro sessions.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot.  Please try to arrive by 11:30am. After checking in, browse Tamron's selection of lenses and Pro Photo Supply's selection of lighting available for use on location. We'll be giving a prize away at the end to the photographer who gets most creative and engaging with Tamron & Pro Photo Supply's gear.  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots, and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 12pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick micro sessions. Questions about which lenses will be location? Check in with @TamronPNW_BenHutchinson on Instagram. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, group size will be limited to safe levels. Masks will be optional. Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam.

This invitation is required to attend. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. To reserve your spot, please register and purchase your ticket after reading & agreeing to our rules on our website at portraitslam.com/rules.  Your ticket will become non-refundable after October 12th. Only registered participants are allowed to attend our events. Please check in with us in advance to request a special exception. We appreciate word-of-mouth and if you'd like to suggest other models or portrait photographers for us to consider inviting, please let us know.
