There is ample private parking available on-sight & the park is handicap accessible. We will enjoy private access to the space, inside & out. Select railcars & depots will be available to shoot in, rain or shine. 

Theme: Space Cowboy Summer

Space Cowboy fashion is the fusion of classic western wear and futuristic pop. It's Lil Nas rocking pink snakeskin while riding horseback and shooting a ray-gun, Kasey Musgraves' stomping on stage in sequined boots, and Kim Kardashian's metallic chaps.  Space Cowboy fashion injects bold colors, futuristic textures, glitz, glam, & bling into the traditional cowboy look. Looks can be mostly western with a touch of futurism, or mostly futurism with a touch of western. For inspiration, visit these Pinterest boards HERE and HERE or search #SantaRosaSlam on Instagram. Please remember, our fashion theme is not a costume. We celebrate diversity, body positivity, self-expression, style, and creativity. In otherwords, feel free to get wierd and let us know if you have any questions!

Models:

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot.  Additional wardrobe will be provided on location for models to incorporate into their look by Dynasty Vintage & Oracle Room.  Models are welcome to visit Dynasty Vintage's location in downtown Ashland, OR during open hours to browse their curated collection of Space Cowboy inspired fashion (optional). They'll be giving away a prize to the model who gets most creative & engaging with their fashion (just for fun, slams are not competitions). Rebekah Blake LLC will be on hand during arrivals offering micro makeup sessions & touchups, first-come first-serve. Arrivals begin at 5pm.  Please try to arrive by 5:30pm, in time for a fun mini model workshop warmup with Elite Production Studios. We'll have a space designated for models inside Medford Railway Park for changing and model's belongings. Check in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, check out Hazy Dazy Floral Co's handmade floral artistry for the perfect accent piece (thanks Emily!), practice shooting with Nanlite lighting, and meet other creatives. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers in quick 10 minute sessions.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers & videographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot. Please try to arrive by 5pm, in time for lighting & gear demos. After checking in, browse Tamron's lenses and Nanlite's lighting, all available to borrow on location. Focal Point Oregon is coming down from Dallas, OR and will be available to assist with gear. Prizes will be given away at the end to the participants who get most creative and engaging with Nanlite USA and Tamron Americas gear (just for fun, slams are not competitions).  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 6pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Personal lighting and film photography are welcome but please tread lightly and check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

This invitation is required to attend. To reserve your spot, please register and purchase your ticket after reading & agreeing to our rules on our website at portraitslam.com/rules.  Your ticket will become non-refundable after August 7th. Only registered participants are allowed to attend our events. Please check in with us in advance to request a special exception. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. Please let us know in advance if you need to cancel.
