Theme: 1980s Arcade

The golden age of arcade was a period of rapid growth, technological development and cultural influence of arcade video games, from the late 1970s to the early 1980s. 1980s fashion played with explosive color, patterns, and new technology. Iconic 80's fashion included Addidas tracksuits, neon Lycra spandex, Walkman cassette players, sweat bands, acid washed jeans, windbreakers, slouchy sweatshirts, starter jackets, Zubaz pants, legwarmers, and high-top sneakers. Bold hairstyles in the 1980s included the mullet, tall mohawk hairstyles, jheri curls, flattops, and hi-top fades. Seek inspiration in iconic arcade games of the 1980's including Ms. Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Frogger, Donkey Kong, Paperboy, and Contra. For further inspiration, explore Pinterest galleries HERE or HERE or search #80sfashion on Instagram.  Please remember, our fashion theme is not a costume. We celebrate diversity, body positivity, self-expression, style, and creativity. Let us know if you have any questions!

Models:

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot. Yesterday's Fits will be featuring additional "80s Arcade" inspired fashion on location for models to incorporate into their look, beginning at 9am. We'll be giving away a prize at the end to the model who gets most creative and playful with Yesterday's Fits' wardrobe. Models will have their own dedicated changing room. Nikkie Balestrere (@nikebee702) & Jazzlyn Kirkland (@cookievalentine) be on hand offering makeup touchups & creative micro sessions during arrivals. Please try to arrive by 9:30am. Check in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, practice with lighting from B&C Camera & Nanlite USA, test out lenses by Tamron, and meet other creatives, and browse wardrobe options before introductions begin at 10:00am. We begin each slam by paring everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers (and other models) in short micro sessions.
