The year is 2120. The Pacific Northwest is a ghostland of crumbling cities, rusted automobiles and abandoned warehouses. An apocolyptic plague swept across the U.S. destroying 95% of the population and only the strong survive. Cut off by Mexcio & Canada with guard towers, huge walls & chainlink fencing, communication & transportation collapsed during year two of the plague. Small bands of Oregonian survivors now travel in wild packs via razor scooters, skateboards, roller skates & shopping carts. To honor the anniversay of the end of civilization as we once knew it, a celebration of fashion & photography has been planned at an auto graveyard in the neutral territory of Eugene, OR. Come let your freak flag fly, barter for ripped Levis, goggles and gas masks, shampoo, toilet paper, feathers & facepaint. Each model will receive a free 90 second smoke grenade from @smoke.effect upon arrival. ***This slam is made possible by our friends at Focal Point Photography, thanks Nate for supporting creative community!

Wardrobe:

Industrial Mad Max/Burning Man vibes. Celebrate the end of civilization with scavenged fashion as post-apocalyptic gypsies, warlords, nomads, warriors, princes and thieves. Curated wardrobe in theme will be provided on location by Medford's Tia Reagan Creative for models to rock and incorporate into their look, beginning at 5pm. Tia's wardrobe is exceptional, please don't miss this! Prizes will be awarded to the model who rocks the wardrobe hardest. Consider summer evening heat and expect to layer up or down, bring base neutrals you're comfortable in, and sturdy shoes to take full advantage of the wrecking yard setting. *As always, we celebrate individuality & creativity: please feel free to express that uniqueness. In other words, it's ok to get weird!

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme. Please arrive by 5:45pm. After checking in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, prep your camera, and chat with fellow creatives. After introductions, we begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, group size will be limited in accordance with state regulation, and the expansive B&R Auto Wrecking provides ample space for everyone to observe responsible social distancing. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bottled water will be provided for participants based on CDC reccommendations. Masks are optional but encouraged. All Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam!
