Theme: Futuristic Athleisure 

The word ‘athleisure’ is a combination of athletic and leisure. Athleisure includes apparel designed for workouts and other athletic activities, but are not limited to being worn at the gym or while exercising. Athleisure wear can be worn at casual social events and even at the workplace (track suits, yoga pants, sneakers, down puffies, sport caps, jerseys, ect.).  What will athleisure fashion will look like in 10 years? In 50 years? In 100 years?  Challenge yourself to give a furturistic twist to modern athleisure fashion. Please remember: we celebrate diversity, body positivity, self-expression and creativity. Our theme is not a costume. Incorporate your own unique style into your look, let us know if you have any questions, and don't be afraid to get wierd. 

Models:

Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot. Second Wind Sports Denver will be on hand with futuristic athleisure inspired fashion, available for models to incorporate into their look. Consider September weather and expect to layer up or down, bring base neutrals you're confident in, and comfortable shoes to take full advantage of the space. Models will have their own dedicated changing space inside the studio Check-in, meet fellow creatives, browse the space for inspiring locations to shoot, & sample lighting options available by Mike's Camera, Denver's local Camera Shop. Questions about posing? Denver models will be on-hand to assist & inspire. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers and models in short micro sessions. Please try and arrive by 4:30pm. Introductions start at 5pm.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot.  Please try to arrive by 4:30pm. After checking in, browse Mike's Camera's selection of lighting equipment and Tamron's selection of lenses available for use (optional) on location. They'll be giving a prize away at the end to the photographer who gets most creative with equipment.  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots, and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 5pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, personal lighiting, and film photography are welcome but please tread lightly & check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

To reserve your spot, please register and purchase your ticket after reading & agreeing to our rules on our website at portraitslam.com/rules.  Your ticket will become non-refundable after September 6th. Only registered participants are allowed to attend our events. Please check in with us in advance to request a special exception. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. Please let us know in advance if you need to cancel. Invitations can be shared with other models, photographers & videographers.  We always appreciate word of mouth.
