Theme: Cottagecore
Cottagecore centers on ideas of simple living and harmony with nature, with a romanticized interpretation of classic English countryside and western agricultural life. Themes often include self-sufficiency, baking, gardening, foraging and caring for animals. Cottagecore fashion commonly features long, loose-fitting skirts & dresses, naturally occurring fabrics and colors, overalls, lace, aprons, big pockets, button blouses, puffy sleeves, simple jewelry, and straw hats. For accessories, think grandma-inspired handmade crafts, gathering baskets, picnic quilts, embroidered linen, and vintage inspired decor. For inspiration, search #Cottagecore on Instagram, watch The Secret Garden or the Tales of Beatrix Potter, make a sourdough starter, or better yet - check out @Lisa.Blunt's Cottagecore moodboard HERE
Portrait slams celebrate diversity, self-expression, style, individuality and creativity. Let us know if you have questions about our theme and, as always, don't be afraid to get weird.
Models:
Please arrive dressed in theme and ready to shoot. A Cottage-core themed wardrobe will be provided on location by Medford's Tia Reagan for models to incorporate into their look, beginning at 4pm - please don't miss this! Prizes will be awarded to the model who rocks Tia's wardrobe with the most creativity and style. Consider September weather and expect to layer up or down, bring base neutrals you're confident in, and comfortable shoes to take full advantage of the space.
Makeup:
Marco Frausto will be offering free micro-sessions from 4:00pm and through the start of the slam. Please come with base makeup complete including foundation and brows, and bring your own mascara. If you have any questions on makeup, please reach out to Marco on Instagram at @MarcoFrausto. Thanks Marco!

Photographers:
We appreciate it when photographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot. Â Please try to arrive by 4:30pm. After checking in, check out Tamron USA's collection of free lens rentals (Focal Point Oregon will be giving away a prize valued at $150 to the photographer who gets most creative with Tamron lenses!), explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots, and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 5pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Videography, off camera flash, and film photography are welcome but please check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

COVID-19:
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this is an outdoor event and group size will be limited.  The expansive Haley Farm provides ample space to observe responsible social distancing. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and bottled water will be provided for participants based on CDC recommendations. Jackson County is currently listed as an area with high numbers of COVID-19 cases, so consider wearing a mask and keep your distance from others. Portrait Slam props, equipment and supplies will be sanitized before, during, and after the slam. If you aren't feeling well, please stay home. Let's collaborate to have a safe and creative slam.
RSVP:
This invitation is required to attend. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives.
