"Vintage Spring Wedding Celebration" fashion theme description:

Vintage wedding fashion evokes romance, nostalgia, and timeless elegance, drawing inspiration from distinct eras like the lace-laden refinement of the 1920s, the nipped-waist silhouettes of the 1950s, or the free-spirited softness of the 1970s. Flowing chiffon or satin gowns with delicate embroidery, pearl buttons, and scalloped hems create graceful movement in front of the camera. Bridal tea-length dresses paired with kitten heels and lace gloves offer mid-century charm, while long-sleeved Edwardian-inspired gowns bring drama and sophistication. For accessories, consider birdcage veils, heirloom brooches, cameo necklaces, structured bouquets of garden roses, and softly waved hair or classic finger curls. For grooms or masculine styling, tailored three-piece suits, suspenders, bow ties, and pocket watches enhance the period feel. Models:

Please arrive dressed in your unique interpretation of the theme and be ready to shoot.  We'll have a private space designated for models within Urbanite PDX for changing and model's belongings. Please bring hangers for any extra items. Urbanite PDX will have props and a small collection of vintage wedding dresses available for models to borrow. For this slam, our friends at Colbalt Studios PDX are creating "Vintage Spring Wedding" set design. Hazy Daisy Floral Co. is creating floral artistry - all available for models to incorporate into their look (thanks Emily!). Check in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, browse available items and meet other creatives before introductions begin at 5:30pm. We'll have private access to Urbanite PDX (inluding the rooftop) during the slam. Please be prepared to work with many different photographers in quick 10 minute sessions.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers & videographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot. Please try to arrive by 5:30pm, in time for vendors to demo gear. After checking in, browse Tamron's lenses and Fujifilm cameras, available to borrow on location. Pro Photo Supply's will be available to assist with gear. Prizes will be given away at the end to the participants who get most creative and engaging with vendor gear (just for fun - shooting with gear on-site is optional, slams are not competitions).  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 5:30pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Personal lighting and film photography are welcome but please tread lightly and check in with us before flying a drone rooftop. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.

This invitation is required to attend. To reserve your spot, please register and purchase your ticket after reading & agreeing to our rules on our website at portraitslam.com/rules.  Your ticket will become non-refundable after April 30th. Only registered participants are allowed to attend our events. Please check in with us in advance to request a special exception. We work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. Please let us know in advance if you need to cancel. Slams are drug & alcohol-free events.  Invitations can be shared with other models, photographers & videographers - we always appreciate word of mouth.
