#PinktoberSlam: in collaboration with the American Cancer Society & the American Cancer Society Discovery Shops - a month-long 5 city tour in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Nor Cal models & photographers: please join us for a collaborative shoot at Sacramento's Scandia Fun Center, with Coney Island vibes and roller coaster rides!

Featuring:

• Wardrobe on location by @acsDiscoveryShopRoseville - all pink (white & black works too) 
• Prize donated by Inn & Out to the model or photographer who rocks the pink the hardest
• Fun challenge box items to help stretch creativity & collaboration
• Be part of an epic Instagram gallery shared by hundreds of creatives supported by five different American Cancer Society Discovery Shops from five different cities: Medford, Redding, Chico, Roseville & Sacramento

Saturday, Oct. 19th

10am: Registration opens, wardrobe available 

10:45am: Registration closes, please arrive by this time

11:00am: Introductions begin 

11:15am: Slam begins

1:30pm: Slam ends

Wardrobe:

Wardrobe items will be provided on location by The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop Roseville - their proceeds benefit cancer research and cancer survivors. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we're encouraging all models and photographers to visit their local Discovery Shop (locations include Auburn, Roseville, Elk Grove & Sacramento) prior to October 19th if possible - they've curated pink collections specifically for Portrait Slam participants!

*Our theme for this slam is "Coney Island" - dress for fun as the roller coaster, rides, go karts, bumper boats, mini golf, arcade & haunted house will be available to us. Google "coney island fashion" for inspiration. Think cotton candy, hot dog vendors, street performers, barbershop quartets, fortune tellers, tourists, beach combers, pink lemonade & roller skates.

*American Cancer Society Discovery Shop Roseville is highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by collecting on-theme pink items in the shop. We're encouraging creatives to visit Discovery Shop Roseville (or other local Discovery Shop locations including Auburn, Roseville, Elk Grove, & Sacramento) and purchase a pink item prior to the slam - 100% of proceeds goes towards research for a cure and support for those struggling with a cancer diagnosis. Please challenge yourself to get wild, creative & DIY with our Coney Island theme. Photographers: this means you, too:)

***As always, we celebrate individuality & creativity: please feel free to express that uniqueness. In other words, let's get weird!

Parking: 

There will be plenty of parking available near the main enterance near the yellow roller coaster. Please check in at the registration table when you arrive.

This event is by invite only. To reserve your spot, please register after reading & agreeing to How This Works on our website at portraitslam.com. Upon ticket purchase, your name will be added to our registration list (no need to print out your ticket). Please note, we work hard to curate a balanced & diverse group of creatives. Your ticket will become non-refundable after Wednesday. Oct. 16th. If you'd like to suggest other models or portrait photographers for the shoot, please let us know!
