Theme Research:Â
The distinctive color palette of the 70s includes avocado green, aqua blue, harvest gold, mustard yellow, earthy brown & tomato red. Counterculture movements heavily influenced 70s fashion - check out icons from the music industry like Stevie Nicks, David Bowie, James Brown, Patti Smith, Nico, and Mick Jagger. Watch Meryl Streep and Diane Keaton in Manhattan and Annie Hall, and Jodie Foster in her breakout role in Taxi Driver. This slam is not about costume - it's about style, and the clash of prints, textures, and colors makes it fun and current. *As always, we celebrate individuality & creativity: please feel free to express that uniqueness. In other words, feel free to get wierd. At the end of the slam, we'll award the model or photographer who rocked the theme hardest with a gift card from Yogurt Hut!
