Halloween "Haunt Couture" Fashion Theme Description:

“Haunt Couture” fashion blends gothic mystique with runway drama. For women’s silhouettes, consider elegant sweeping gowns, corsetry, lace overlays, and flowing fabrics like velvet, satin, and chiffon -ghostly veils, ornate chokers, and gloved hands to add a hint at mystery. For men's silhouettes, consider dark edged tailoring: fitted velvet blazers, brocade waistcoats, high-collared shirts, and long coats that evoke both aristocracy and shadow. For androgynous styling, contrast textures - structured jackets over sheer layers, leather harnesses paired with silk, or flowing skirts balanced with tailored boots. Accessories across all looks favor dramatic flair: wide-brimmed hats, antique-inspired jewelry, polished canes, or even theatrical makeup with pale foundations, smoky eyes, and crimson lips. For further inspiration, search for "Haunt Couture" on Pinterest, watch Interview With a Vampire, Bride of Chucky or Wednesday, browse Monster High's collection of fashionable dolls, check out art by Hayden Williams, or search #HauntSlam on Instagram. Please remember: we celebrate diversity, body positivity, self-expression and creativity. Incorporate your own unique style into your look, let us know if you have any questions, and don't be afraid to get weird.

Models:

Please arrive dressed in your unique interpretation of the theme and be ready to shoot.  We'll have a private space designated for models within DCO for changing and model's belongings. Please bring hangers for any extra items. Denver Models will be onsite offering model coaching and creative support during the slam, along with fun warm-up before intros begin. MUA Relished Designs will be offering models touch ups and micro sessions during arrivals, first come-first serve. The Prop Vault, Co Creative Collabs, & Denver Models will be helping create Haunt Couture sets for the slam. Check in, explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, get familiar with Nanlite's collection of lighting available to borrow, and meet other creatives before introductions begin at 5pm. We'll have private access to our location during the slam. Please consider October weather and be prepared to work with many different photographers in quick 10 minute sessions.

Photographers:

We appreciate it when photographers & videographers dress in sync with the vibe and rock the theme, but they aren't required to. Photographers should wear comfortable shoes and arrive with their camera ready to shoot. Please try to arrive by 4:30pm, in time for a lighting demo. After checking in, browse Tamron's lenses and Nanlite's lighting - all available to borrow on location. Mike's Camera will be available to assist with gear. Prizes will be given away at the end to the participants who get most creative and engaging with vendor gear (just for fun - shooting with gear on-site is optional, slams are not competitions).  Explore the space for inspiring portrait locations, take a few test shots and chat with fellow creatives. Introductions start at 5pm. We begin each slam by pairing everyone up. Please be prepared to work with many different models in quick 10 minute sessions. Personal lighting and film photography are welcome but please tread lightly and check in with us before flying a drone. Photography assistants are required to purchase a general ticket.
